his beast comes packed with loads of features and high-quality components, let’s start with the processor. X570 crosshair dark hero supports only AMD processors ranging from 5000 series, 4000 G-Series/3000 & 2000 series. Intel processors will not work on this board. It is designed in such a way that you can use a deep power saving mode to full-load instantly. The VRM is designed to handle smaller to major power fluctuations. It maintains the best thermal performance.

If we talk about performance, X570 Dark Hero ASUS has 4 DIMM slots that support up to 128GB DDR4 RAM sticks. With ASUS Optimum III memory kits run at lower latencies and reduced voltages and operate at higher frequencies. When paired with Zen 3 processors it optimizes the system performance by using infinity fabric technology. It has multi GPU SLI/CFX support where you get 2 PCIe 4.0 x16 slots or x8/x8. You can also use 1 PCIe 4.0 x16(x4) and 1 PCIe 4.0 x 1 slot. For storage, you get 2 M.2 slots and 8 SATA ports which have a transfer capacity of 6GB/s. 

Under high workload ASUS X570 ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero has to work stably, the motherboard has a large VRM and well-covered heatsink which efficiently cools the component. Heat is dissipated through the 2 large VRM and heatsink that have high-quality thermal pads are placed above the chokes and MOSFETs that are connected via a heat pipe.  The two M.2  slots have dedicated heatsinks on them which help nvmes to give you consistent reliable performance at lower temperatures.

X570 Dark Hero motherboard has dual water temparture headers which helps you to feed information about coolant temparature and flow rate of entire loop to company provided AI suite utility.

X570 Dark hero is DIY friendly motherboard which offers Q-Code LED pannel which shows 2 digit error code which indicates the system status. board has FlexKey button which is used to reset the board, you can also change the functionality of the button, you can set it as on and off switch for your AURA Sync Lighting, activate safe boot or even enter the BIOS. ESD Guard on board protects your USBs, LAN Ports, Audio ports from electrostatic.

With ASUS softwares you can do 5 way optimisation of your system components to give you better performance. 

1. You can tweak Turbo V procesing Unit (TPU) which will help you to tune volatages, monitor system statistics and overclock parameters. 

2. Energy Processing Unit (EPU) helps you to optimise your power consumption and provides maximum power savings. Simple terms this helps you save some power by shutting down unused I/O controllers.

3. Fan Xpert 4 with this you get to control your AIO coolers and fans manually. This software also can auto tune the modes best suited for your system.

4. Digi+ voltage regulator module (VRM) will give you real time control power settings. You can fine tune your CPU volatage regulation for ultimate stability and performance.

x570 vs B550 Motherboards. What is the difference?

In X570 you get more features compared B550 boards. X570 has better cooling, has more USB, control over your board than B550 boards. 

ASUS x570 Dark Hero release date

ASUS x570 Dark Hero was released in November 2020, however, even in Jan2021, it is difficult to find the board on market. company is trying hard to fulfill the gap. I guess in a couple of more months we can expect to see the availability and price drop.
